Spreads are a modern food product of European quality. They have a balanced ratio of vegetable oil and butter and offer advantages of the two forenamed types of fat. Spreads are as tasty as butter, and they have dietary properties (low level of cholesterol) and gentle consistency due to having vegetable oil in them.
For many years Ukrainian women are using spreads for making sandwiches, seasoning garnishes, frying and baking. Spreads have been popular in Europe for a long time. In 2005 the World Health Organization recommended reducing consumption of the so-called saturated, animal fats. Today Europeans prefer spreads since they are a dietary low-cholesterol product.
