Rozhysche Cheese Factory – is one of the biggest businesses in Volyn oblast, were for the last 40 years they have respected and increased the traditions of cheese making mastery. The production base of the factory is located in the centre of Volyn, in a picturesque and ecologically clean area on the bank of the River Stir. Since the time of the business's existence it has gained a stable reputation as a leader in cheese making in the region and beyond, and its qualified team from year to year working on improving the technologies of production.

The best equipment - the best production

Starting in 2000, there has been constant activities carried out in order to modernize the production equipment at Rozhysche Cheese Factory. Thus, in 2004 the company built a cheese maturation and storage facility, and in 2005 put into operation a new low-temperature refrigeration unit for the storage of up to 400 tonnes of butter and another refrigerated storage unit which can hold up to 100 tonnes of finished product. In 2007 - a whey drying facility with a capacity of seven tonnes a day. As of 2008 the business started its automated line for packaging hard cheeses.
The factory has been successful at reconstructing its butter shop in the modernization of its line of pasteurizing cream, and also built the receiving apparatus section in order to ensure a completely closed process for the reception of raw materials and its transportation to the manufacturing.
In accordance with the necessary conditions of the program and plans of (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), a system of quality management of production (ISO 9001:2009) and a system for the management of the safety of food products (State Standard of Ukraine ISO 22000:2007) have been implemented at Rozhysche Cheese Factory.

Production capacity of Rozhysche Cheese Factory:

  • volume of milk processed is 200 tonnes per day;
  • volume of cheese production is about 19 tonnes per day.
From the beginning to the present

The factory started operation in 1973. Starting in 2000, the factory began producing products under "ROSI" trade mark, which was in high demand in Ukraine. Unfortunately, in 2011 hard times came upon the factory, and at the end of 2012 work at the factory ceased due to arrears in debts. On May 17, 2013 the principle agreement was reached with the previous owners about the possibility of joining Rozhysche Cheese Factory to the TERRA FOOD company (part of the TERRA FOOD group of companies). This event was a new starting point and start of the enterprises revival, because here once again a couple of hundred jobs were created and the factory regained its status of an enterprise which contributes to the state budget. Throughout 2013, in accordance with development plans, the TERRA FOOD company was carried out a series of sizable activities regarding the reconstruction and modernization of the factory, which allowed it to increase its capacity considerably.

Awards and consumer accolades

Just over the last 10 years the factory's products have garnered 23 gold, seven silver, and 3 bronze awards, and also won the Grand Prix at the tasting contest at "Ukrmyasomolprom" for its "Gollandskiy" cheese.
